Allsorts Youth Project

About us

At Allsorts, we value youth voice, empowerment, equality and inclusion. If you are like us, you believe that all children & young people should be supported and free to be themselves.

Who are Allsorts?

Allsorts Youth Project is a Sussex-based charity that listens to, supports & connects children & young people under 26 who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans or exploring their sexual orientation and/or gender identity (LGBT+), and their families.

Since 1999, we have challenged exclusion, prejudice and discrimination in all areas of LGBT+ children & young people's lives with a three-pronged approach:

  1. Youth Services for LGBT+ children & young people including youth groups, fun activities and one-to-one support
  2. Family support services for parents/carers and other family members of LGBT+ children & young people
  3. Training & Education to the wider community, so that all spaces can be safer and more inclusive for LGBT+ people

By donating to Allsorts, you are supporting LGBT+ children, young people and their families across Sussex, and helping provide opportunities to build confidence, community and reduce the isolation and impact of LGBT-phobia they often face.

Allsorts of Impact

"Allsorts has been a really valuable space for me to explore who I am and be myself without worrying about consequences from LGBT-phobia. It's been a safe place for me to have fun, make friends and find out more about a community I'm part of but didn't know much about." - Allsorts Young Person

In our most recent survey with 49 LGBT+ young people,

  • 97% said that Allsorts groups had been of help to them
  • 97% said that one-to-one support sessions had been of particular help to them
  • 85% said that coming to Allsorts has helped improve their overall wellbeing
  • 86% said that coming to Allsorts has helped them become more connected to the LGBT+ community
